On the morning of October 16, 2023,

with the theme of "Marine Science and Technology",

the China-International Seabed Authority

Joint Training and Research Center

(hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Center"),

opened the 2023 Training Program,

which is, since the official operation of the Ocean Decade International Cooperation Center,

the first international training ever.

Wang Hong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China and Director of the State Oceanic Administration, stated that Qingdao, as a globally influential marine science city, gathers 30% of China's marine-related academicians and 40% of marine-related R&D institutions. He expects the trainees to learn abundant marine knowledge and experience profound marine culture in Qingdao, deepen their understanding of China, and make positive contributions to further boosting marine cooperation and exchanges between their countries and China in the future.

After the opening ceremony, Mr. He Sai, the Head of the Environmental Management and Mineral Resources Office of the International Seabed Authority, visited the Ocean Decade International Cooperation Center.

The training program, which lasts for 12 days,

will be conducted by more than 20 experts from the International Seabed Authority and China,

through various forms, both offline and online,

providing training for

25 trainees from 21 developing countries.
