Shanghai International Shipping Center Development and Promotion Organization (SISC-DPO) joined the International Marine Chamber of Commerce Association Alliance (IMCCAA)

As another practical outcome under the framework of the East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform, the International Marine Chamber of Commerce Association Alliance (IMCCAA) is being initiated and established at the headquarters of the Platform (Qingdao West Coast New Area). Recently, the IMCCAA further expanded as Shanghai International Shipping Center Development and Promotion Organization (SISC-DPO) joined the organization officially. A few days ago, Zheng Zai, Standing Deputy Director and Secretary-General of SISC-DPO, Zheng Tianwei, Special Assistant to the Secretary-General and Secretary-General of the Legislative Affairs Commission, SISC-DPO, Wang Yonghong, Secretary-General of Shanghai International Ship Management Association (SISMA), SISC-DPO, as well as their party visited and investigated the Shanghai Office of China Enterprise News Marine Industry Foreign Cooperation Promotion Center of Qingdao West Coast New Area for joining the establishment of the IMCCAA.

As the Director of the Industrial Economy News Department and Chief Editor of the China Enterprise News Live and the Director of China Enterprise News Marine Industry Foreign Cooperation Promotion Center of Qingdao West Coast New Area, Wulan Qiqige received the delegation led by Zheng, and the two sides had in-depth discussions and interactive exchanges. Wulan Qiqige warmly welcomed the delegation and thanked SISC-DPO for joining the IMCCAA first. Then, he stated that, guided by the economy and linked by industry, the Alliance aims at win-win cooperation, in hope of further deepening the international cooperation in maritime fields and jointly contributing to the high-quality development of the marine industry.  

In 2022, on the occasion of the establishment of the entity of East Asia Maritime Cooperation Platform and the convening of the 6th East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform Qingdao Forum, the China Enterprise News Marine Industry Foreign Cooperation Promotion Center of Qingdao West Coast New Area under the China Enterprise News Group launched the IMCCAA together with the Shanghai Office of Council for Promoting South-South Cooperation of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement the Belt and Road Initiative and further deepen international maritime cooperation. The Alliance will be formally established at the opening ceremony of the East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform Qingdao Forum in 2022. For now, the preparatory work of the Alliance is progressing in an orderly way, and initial achievements have been achieved by inviting maritime business associations both at home and abroad to join. Wulan Qiqige said, "Since the launch of the alliance cooperation mechanism, about 30 maritime business associations and other organizations from home and abroad have confirmed joining the Alliance, and the Alliance has successfully held international expert seminars and established the International Expert Advisory Committee. Meanwhile, to better serve the member units, the IMCCAA online publishing platform, China Enterprise News Live Marine Industry Economy Channel has been put online fully."

In the future, the Alliance will be committed to building a high-quality service platform and bridge for two-way investment, two-way trade, openness, and coordination and providing accurate, real-time, and efficient matchmaking services for domestic and foreign marine industries. Meanwhile, it will innovate in the system models concerning international operation, regular operation, and market-based development and explore building a maritime community with a shared future.  

Secretary-General Zheng Zai highly recognized the prospect of cooperation between the two sides and highly appreciated the initiative and efforts made by the IMCCAA in promoting the shipping culture and maritime culture, which would bring a new perspective to the innovative development of China's shipping industry. Also, Zheng expressed that SISC-DPO was willing to strengthen all-around in-depth cooperation with the China Enterprise News Marine Industry Foreign Cooperation Promotion Center of Qingdao West Coast New Area on shipping culture, marine industry and resources, marine fisheries, marine environmental protection technology, and social responsibility.  

Through this in-depth exchange and discussion, SISC-DPO has obtained a deeper understanding of the development layout and phased achievements of the IMCCAA. The two sides have identified the coherence point between each other for close cooperation. They will jointly promote the sustainable development of the marine economy, achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, and build up strength for the development of the East Asia Maritime Cooperation Platform.
